On January 13, 2010, shortly before 2am, Selkirk Traffic Services were advised of a single vehicle rollover on PTH 100 (southeast Perimeter) east of Lagimodiere.

Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services had already been dispatched. Preliminary reports indicated that the lone occupant had rolled his Ford pickup truck and had been ejected from the vehicle.

RCMP attended the scene of the collision and the driver, a 28-year-old RM of Headingley resident, was transported to Victoria General Hospital were he was pronounced deceased at about 2:45am.

It was determined that the deceased was driving eastbound on PTH 100 when he failed to negotiate the slight curve at Plessis Road. The vehicle crossed over the median to the north shoulder of the Westbound lanes, striking the centre median and rolled. The deceased was ejected from the vehicle.

Speed does not appear to be a contributing factor. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.

The investigation continues.
