On January 24, 2010, at approximately 3:30am Headingley Rural RCMP received a report of a two semi-trailer collision on the west perimeter on Highway 100 and McGillivray Boulevard in the RM of McDonald.

An eastbound semi-truck was traveling through the controlled intersection with a green light on McGillivray Boulevard when it was struck by another semi-truck traveling northbound on the perimeter highway.

The driver of the northbound semi-truck, a 44-year-old man from Toronto, was transported to Victoria Hospital and later transferred to Health Sciences Centre with non life threatening injuries. The driver will be facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver of the eastbound semi-truck, a 65-year-old man from Montana was not injured.

Poor road conditions and visibility appear to have been a factor.
