On March 2, 2010, around 9pm, Norway House RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 373 in Norway House, Manitoba.
During the traffic stop and subsequent investigation police were able to discover and seize over one pound of marijuana, the equivalent of 1912 doses. Over $2000 cash was seized as well.
As a result of the investigation, two separate Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants were conducted on two residences in the community of Norway House the next day.
38-year-old Cheryl Maureen Osborne and 66-year-old Mary Jane Elizabeth Clarke, both of Norway House, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the CDSA and possession of property obtained by crime under the Criminal Code (CC). They have been released and are to appear in Norway House court on May 11, 2010.
The incident is still under investigation.
