Mayor Chris Goertzen (City of Steinbach), Reeve Art Bergman (RM of Ste. Anne) and Reeve Stan Toews (RM of Hanover) are pleased by the renewal of several longstanding regional service agreements.
The renewed contracts include Fire Protection, Landfill Use, and Building Inspection services.
“Steinbach Council is pleased by the renewal of these agreements,” said Mayor Goertzen. “The contracts are mutually beneficial as they provide Steinbach with the opportunity to reduce operating costs and allow participating municipalities to utilize first-rate services at a reduced rate.”
The renewed agreements provide an excellent example of regional cooperation and what can be accomplished when municipalities are willing to work together.
“Hanover continues to be satisfied with the services provided by the City,” said Reeve Toews. “We believe these agreements are good for the taxpayers of our municipality.”
“Regional cooperation is important to our municipalities,” said Ste. Anne Reeve Bergman. “If we can provide quality services at an economical rate to our citizens, it just makes sense to do so.”
The following service contracts were renewed for an additional three years:
• Fire Protection for RM of Ste. Anne and RM of Hanover
• Landfill Use for RM of Ste. Anne, Town of Ste. Anne, RM of Hanover, and La Broquerie
• Building Inspection and Plan Review for RM of Ste. Anne, Town of Ste. Anne, and La Broquerie
