In early 2009, RCMP Wasagaming began an investigation into allegations that marijuana was being cultivated at a home in the RM of Clanwilliam, Manitoba.

On Monday March 15, 2010, the investigation lead to the execution of a search warrant obtained under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in the RM of Clanwilliam, Manitoba.

Police seized an undisclosed quantity of marijuana plants, loose marijuana and extensive equipment used to operate an indoor gro-op. The total value of the seized drugs and equipment is in excess of $100,000. As well, ten firearms were seized from the same residence due to being improperly stored according to the regulations of the Criminal Code of Canada.

42-year-old Bruce Charles Hill, a resident of the RM of Clanwilliam, has been charged with production of cannabis, possession of cannabis over 30 grams, possession for the purposes of trafficking and several counts of unsafe storage of a firearm. Hill was released on a promise to appear in Provincial Court.

The Wasagaming RCMP were assisted my members of the Shoal Lake, Hamiota, Rossburn, Elphinstone & Russell RCMP detachments.

The investigation continues.
