The Providence Athletics Department is extremely proud to announce the opening of the new Providence Fitness Centre. This 2500 sq/ft facility is membership based and is open to students, staff, faculty and the community.

Providence College’s Athletic Director, Scott Masterson, commented on the project. “This facility is something that has been needed at Providence for many years. The Fitness Centre provides commercial grade equipment and a great atmosphere that will be inviting for our members to come and have a great experience as they pursue their fitness goals”.

The Fitness Centre offers a variety of options for anyone looking to get in better shape. Assistant Athletic Director, Greg Lepp described what is available. “We offer 12 pieces of cardio equipment, ranging from treadmills to recumbent bikes. We also have an extensive assortment of strength equipment and free weights providing everything that you would need for a complete body workout. Most of our strength equipment was purchased from Pulse Fitness Systems in Winnipeg. We also have a 480 square foot private aerobics area for group aerobic sessions.”

The Fitness Centre officially opened January 5th for returning students but is now open to the public. Anyone interested in the facility should contact the Providence Business Office at 1-866-668-7768 for a guest pass or membership information. Memberships are as low as $24/month.
