On April 19, 2010 at about 10:25pm, Cross Lake RCMP Detachment responded to a call for assistance for a male who was a victim of an apparent stabbing at a residence in Cross Lake, Manitoba.
The male was conveyed to the local Nursing Station and later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Anthony Allan Halcrow, of Cross Lake, Manitoba.
An autopsy is scheduled for April 21, 2010, at the Health Science Center in Winnipeg.
23-year-old Conrad Peter Thomas, also of Cross Lake, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder. He will be appearing in Thompson Provincial Court on April 22, 2010.
The victim and the accused are known to each other.
The RCMP Major Crime Services along with the Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section and members of Cross Lake RCMP Detachment continue to investigate. There is no further information available at this time
