On May 19, 2010, at approximately 6:20am, Steinbach RCMP responded a report of a barn fire on Hanover Road, just south of Steinbach Manitoba.
RCMP report that a large barn was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival and the Steinbach Fire Department was already on scene battling the blaze.
It was determined that the barn was used to house chickens. RCMP report no chickens were in the barn at the time of the fire.
The fire resulted in the total loss of the barn, with an estimated loss of about 1 million dollars.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner continues to investigate. At this point of the investigation, the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
