On June 7, 2010, shortly before 12:30pm, The Pas RCMP were dispatched to an accident at the intersection of Fischer and 3rd Street in The Pas involving a vehicle and cyclist.
RCMP arrived within minutes of the accident along with Emergency Services. There were numerous witnesses on scene who relayed to police that a male on a bicycle drove into the intersection and was hit by a cement truck who was traveling through a green light.
The adult male was pronounced deceased shortly after the accident. An RCMP traffic analyst was on scene shortly after the incident and it was determined that cement truck had a full load and could not stop in time to avoid a collision with the male. The deceased male was wearing headphones which may have been a factor in the accident.
No charges have been laid on the driver of the truck.
