Manitobans and visitors to the province will have the opportunity to enjoy Manitoba’s great outdoors and free fishing during the annual Family Fishing Weekend on June 12 and 13, Water Stewardship Minister Christine Melnick announced.
For this weekend only, anglers will be able to fish without a provincial licence in all waters except those in federal parks where a federal licence will still be required.
All adult anglers who would normally require a licence will be allowed to keep a conservation licence limit of four walleye/sauger, four northern pike, two smallmouth bass, two stocked trout, one channel catfish and one lake trout. Limits for other species remain the same.
The 2010 Manitoba Anglers’ Guide outlines specific regulations in each area of the province. For more information, call 204-945-6784 or visit www.manitobafisheries.com.
