Shortly after 9pm, on July 1, 2010, Dauphin RCMP were called to the scene of a train/car collision south east of the city of Dauphin.
Officers attended along with fire fighters and paramedics from Dauphin. A black Mitsubishi car was traveling north on Road 106, approximately 2 kilometres south of PTH 20. The car was crossing the railroad tracks when it collided with an eastbound CN train. The driver was extricated the from the car and transported to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre where he later died.
The driver has been identified as 28-year-old Wan Loan (Ronald) Chan of Dauphin.
The investigation continues.
