Around 5:45am, August 14, 2010, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment attempted to stop a car on a municipal road south of Whitmore Avenue after they noted it to be weaving from side to side.
The driver of the car failed to stop for the officers after the emergency lights were turned on and a short pursuit ensued. The driver finally stopped the car approximately 20 kilometres later and was arrested.
44-year-old Gordon Alex Blackbird, from the Keeseekoowenin FN, has been charged with a number of criminal offences including impaired driving, dangerous driving and flight from police. Blackbird has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Court August 16, 2010.
