On April 14, 2010, Flin Flon RCMP investigators were contacted by the Norman Regional Health Authority (NRHA) regarding the activity of an employee.

Investigation revealed that the employee had applied for sick leave from the NRHA and provided a forged doctors note indicating he had cancer, while in fact the employee was in the province of Alberta to answer to fraud and forgery charges in that province.

Further investigation revealed that the man, who had been employed by the NRHA for approximately 18 months as a Mental Health Clinician, had presented a forged Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Calgary when he had been hired.

Flin Flon RCMP have charged 46-year-old Lloyd Carr of Swan River, Manitoba, with two counts of Uttering a Forged Document and one count of Fraud. Carr is to appear in Flin Flon Provincial Court on September 1, 2010.
