On September 18, at 8:17pm, Carberry RCMP received a 911 call for assistance at a farm located west of Carberry on RD 86W in the RM of North Cypress.
RCMP arrived on scene to find EMS personnel attending to a 14-year-old female who had become trapped between the conveyor belt and the motor support bracket of a potato conveyor belt.
The youth had attempted to cross over the conveyor when it was in motion and slipped, causing her to become entangled and trapped in the machine. The youth was extracted by RM of North Cypress Fire and Rescue and transported to Brandon General Hospital for treatment.
The youth is listed in stable condition with a lower body injuries.
The investigation is continuing under the Manitoba Labour and Immigration Workplace Safety and Health Division.
