On October 4, 2010, at 5:14am, Dauphin RCMP officers were called to a motor vehicle accident at the south end of Riding Mountain National park.
Upon arrival, officers found that a 1991 Chevrolet pick-up had rolled and the driver and sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle.
EMS and Dauphin Fire Rescue attended the scene and the driver was rushed to Dauphin hospital. The driver, a 51-year-old resident of Winnipeg later died of the injuries he sustained in the accident while still in hospital.
