RCMP investigation has led to an arrest in connection with complaints of fraud involving driveway paving.
 
Stonewall RCMP have charged 36-year-old Benjamin John Smith, of no fixed address, with two counts of fraud and one count of obstruction following receipt of a complaint relating to residential asphalt application in the RM of Rockwood on October 5, 2010. Smith is currently in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Center and will be appearing in court in Winnipeg.
 
It has been reported that Smith is part of a group that has been traveling throughout Canada attempting to defraud consumers in a similar manner.
 
RCMP are requesting any citizens who have been approached by suspicious individuals offering to pave their driveways contact their local police service.
