At 1:35am on October 20, 2010, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a shop fire at E & R Furnishings and Millwork on Elm River Colony.
Emergency services were on scene tending to the wood shop which was fully engulfed in flames. The entire business and its contents were destroyed by the fire. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
E & R Furnishings and Millwork Inc. suffered damages of approximately $2,000,000.
The cause of the fire is not yet known however the incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident are asked to contact the Portage la Prairie RCMP at 857-4445 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
