A Cross Lake woman is facing numerous charges after she was stopped by police for speeding through a residential area earlier in October.
RCMP report that on October 23, 2010, at about 8pm, Cross Lake RCMP members on patrol observed a 2008 Ford Edge traveling through a residential area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped by police, and investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana, cocaine, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia and approximately $570 in Canadian currency. There were no other persons in the vehicle.
The accused, a 33-year-old woman from Cross Lake, Manitoba, was released from custody with a scheduled first court appearance of December 7, 2010, in Cross Lake Provincial Court.
A number of charges are pending, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Police continue to investigate.
