On December 4, 2010, at about 9:30am, the RCMP Operational Communication Centre was called and advised of a domestic dispute involving an RCMP member.
The incident allegedly occurred on December 3, 2010, in the afternoon.
The RCMP Detachment Commander was contacted and an investigation was initiated resulting in the December 4th arrest of a 32-year-old RCMP male Constable, currently stationed in West District. The Constable was released on a promise to appear with conditions. On December 7, he was charged with assault and possessing a weapon (knife) for dangerous purposes.
The Officer is a regular member of the RCMP and has two and a half years of service. He has been removed from operational duties and his status is being reviewed.
