At approximately 2am on December 7, 2010 Central Plains RCMP seized a quantity of marijuana while investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence.
Police on patrol observed a 1998 Volvo 740 on Highway 1 in the RM of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The vehicle was stopped while police were investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence. Subsequent investigation revealed that the lone occupant in the vehicle was in possession of 6.9 pounds of marijuana and 2 ounces of hash oil which, combined, have an approximate value of $47,675.
Charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking is 40-year-old Robert Epp of Vancouver, British Columbia. Epp has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on December 9, 2010.
Police continue to investigate.
