On December 13, 2010, at 11pm, Selkirk RCMP as well as local Emergency Services were dispatched to the scene of a residential fire in the Village of Dunnottar, Manitoba.

On arrival, the home was found to be completely engulfed in flames and could not be saved.

An investigator from the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner attended to assist with the investigation.

There was no one at home at the time of the fire, however, it is reported that two family pets, a cat and a dog, were in the residence at the time and did not survive.

Police are awaiting an official report on the cause, but initial indications are that the blaze was accidental.

Police continue to investigate.
