On December 29, 2010, shortly after 2pm, Boissevain and Killarney RCMP, along with local area Fire and Ambulance Services were dispatched to a plane crash in a farmer’s field, about 2.5 to 3 miles northwest of Boissevain, in the RM of Morton.
The plane is described as a single engine Cessna (small aircraft). The pilot and lone occupant of the aircraft, has been confirmed deceased. He has been identified as a 62-year-old local area man, his name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation into the cause of the crash continues with the assistance of the Transportation Safety Board.
