On December 30, 2010, at about 3am, Neepawa RCMP received a report of a break and Enter in progress at a business in Neepawa.
A second call was received of a male subject running from the area and a third call was received of a male subject being unlawfully in a dwelling located near the RCMP Detachment. Glass was also heard breaking at this time by another witness.
Police attended the residence and arrested an intoxicated male. Further investigation revealed that a rear window to the RCMP Detachment had been broken, as well as the front windshield of a police vehicle. Significant damage was noted to the interior of the vehicle.
Investigators determined that the subject was responsible for the damage to all of the noted businesses, RCMP detachment and police vehicle. He was taken into custody and released the next day under strict conditions.
19-year-old Shane Jordon Kuharski of Neepawa has been charged with three counts of mischief under $5000, one count of mischief over $5000 and break and enter with intent to steal a firearm. Kuharski is scheduled to appear in court in Neepawa on March 1, 2011.
