RCMP investigators have determined that the circumstances involving an infant death this past November are not considered suspicious in nature.

On November 20, 2010 at about 11:15pm, RCMP Leaf Rapids were advised, by the medical staff of the Leaf Rapids Health Centre that a local 7-month-old male infant was brought in unresponsive. CPR was initiated without success.

After investigations, RCMP have determined that the circumstances involving this infant death are no longer considered suspicious in nature. RCMP also report that no criminal charges are expected to be laid.

The final report from the office of the Chief Medical Examiner has yet to be received, however, since the matter is no longer considered suspicious, the cause of death will not be released.
