Damage incurred by a methane gas explosion.
Emergency services responded to a methane gas explosion in a hog barn in the RM of Ritchot this past Thursday evening, shortly after 5:30pm.
The barn, owned by Puratone and located on Leblanc Road, suffered structural damage to its north east section when an equipment malfunction caused a spark and ignited a build-up of methane gas within the structure.
RCMP rport that there were no injuries to personnel or livestock with the damage being restricted to the west building.
The investigation indicated that the explosion was accidental.
