On January 28, 2011, at 4:40pm, Stonewall RCMP responded to a collision on Highway 6 and Road 4E between the communities of Gross Isle and Gordon in the RM of Rosser.
Early investigation indicates that the driver of a southbound SUV on Highway 6 lost control and collided with a northbound car.
The driver of the northbound car, a 42-year-old man from Warren, lost his life while his spouse was taken to a Winnipeg hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the southbound SUV, a 58-year-old man from Winnipeg, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of the RCMP Reconstructionist.
While the investigation into the collision continues, poor road conditions are considered a contributing factor.
