On February 7, 2011, just after 4pm, Boissevain RCMP as well as local Emergency Services and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a fatal single vehicle rollover in the RM of Turtle Mountain, Manitoba.
Initial investigation indicates that a 1998 GMC pick-up truck had been traveling on a gravel road in the RM of Turtle Mountain when it left the roadway, going into the ditch and rolling over at least once.
The driver, a 59-year-old man from the RM of Turtle Mountain was pronounce deceased at the scene. There were two passengers (family members) in the vehicle, a 6 and 9-year-old boy. Both were treated at hospital for minor injuries.
An RCMP traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Speed and alcohol are not considered factors at this time. Seat belts appear to have been in use at the time of the collision and the road was reported to have been well maintained.
There were no other persons or vehicles involved in this collision.
Police continue to investigate.
