Late on May 11, 2009, a 17-year-old girl from Grand Rapids was arrested for arson and released on a promise to appear (with conditions) in connection with a fire that occurred at the Grand Rapids Co-op Grocery Store.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. April 23, 2009, Police, Fire, and Ambulance personnel were called to the Dauphin Fair Grounds as the grandstands were on fire.
On March 18, 2009 at about 1:45 a.m., an off duty RCMP Officer on Pukatawagan First Nation noted smoke emanating from an RCMP residence of another RCMP Officer of the Detachment.
On March 6, 2009 around 8:30 AM Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage la Prairie Fire Department responded to a report of a building on fire on 4th St NE.
On December 7, 2008 the Elphinstone RCMP responded to a house fire on 2nd Street in the Village of Elphinstone.
