The Manitoba Public Utilities Board has been made aware that some door-to-door salespersons are approaching homeowners claiming they are representing Manitoba Hydro or Centra Gas in the marketing of natural gas contracts to residential customers.
At approximately 1am yesterday morning, a break and subsequent fire occurred on a TransCanada PipeLines (TCPL) natural gas pipeline between Otterburne, Manitoba and Hwy 59.
The Public Utilities Board has approved Centra Gas’ application to increase current primary gas rates effective February 1, 2014.
Manitobans are being advised to use caution when considering residential natural gas contracts as the sales persons may not be who they claim to be.
