Late last month, Portage la Prairie RCMP members executed a search warrant at a business located in the 1500 block of Saskatchewan Avenue in the City of Portage la Prairie.
On March 24, 2010, at about 3am, Portage la Prairie RCMP members stopped a 1988 Ford motor home, traveling eastbound on the Trans Canada Highway in the City of Portage la Prairie, for failing to stop at a red light.
On March 13, 2010 at about 12pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP seized 1176 cartons of contraband cigarettes in a traffic stop near Highway 242 West in Portage la Prairie.

In early 2009, RCMP Boissevain Customs & Excise Section along with the Manitoba Finance Special Investigation Unit in Brandon, began an investigation into allegations that unstamped cigarettes were being sold in and around the Brandon area.

Officials from RCMP Traffic Services and the Manitoba Finance Special Investigations Unit seized 150 cases of illegal, unmarked cigarettes in plastic bags and 25 cases of “discount” brand cigarettes in the West Hawk Lake area near the Manitoba-Ontario border on May 13.
