The RCMP have announced a new initiative for western Manitoba that targets high-risk drivers whose behaviour behind the wheel has caused serious injuries or death.
On November 11, 2011, shortly after noon, Selkirk RCMP Detachment members were dispatched to a residence southwest of Selkirk, in the RM of St. Andrews, where a 57-year-old woman was found deceased outside her residence.
On October 31, 2011, at approximately 9:15am, Powerview RCMP as well as local Emergency Services were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive male at a residence on the Sagkeeng FN.
On March 29, 2011, at about 7:20am, RCMP Thompson Detachment members and local EMS were dispatched to a local elementary school in Thompson where they found an unresponsive male.
RCMP investigators have determined that the circumstances involving an infant death this past November are not considered suspicious in nature.
On December 21, 2010 at about 12pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP were dispatched to a residence in the RM of Portage la Prairie to investigate the death of an infant.
On June 19, 2010, at about 7:45am, Cross Lake RCMP were called to a large fight involving two groups of people in the community of Cross Lake, Manitoba.
On May 14, 2010, shortly after 7am, an unresponsive one and a half month old girl was brought to Thompson General Hospital.
Following an 8 month investigation and in consultation with Manitoba Justice, more charges have now been laid against Ernest Leon Mentuck in connection with the death of Brent Robert Malcolm.
The deceased in a suspicious death incident, which occurred earlier this month, has been identified as 23-year-old Cody Justin Peter Starr of Little Black River.
