The province is moving to strengthen Manitoba’s workforce with apprenticeships by launching three new initiatives.

On February 24, 2010, Eastman Immigrant Services, together with the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce, hosted the first Immigrant and Newcomer Employment Fair at the 55Plus Center in Steinbach.

It’s a first-time event for Steinbach – an event focused on employment for immigrants and newcomers to the community.

Applications are now available for grants to hire youth for summer jobs in Manitoba through provincial Green Team programs, Healthy Living, Seniors and Youth Minister Jim Rondeau announced.
