At about midnight on July 2, 2013, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in Trenton was notified of an overdue Bell 206 helicopter near Gillam, Manitoba.
On July 4, 2012, at 11am, RCMP, Fire and EMS responded to the scene of a helicopter crash, approximately 6 kilometers south of Silverton, Manitoba.
A permanent Manitoba crew of 14 paramedics, nurses and pilots is now responding to emergency calls across the province with the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) helicopter ambulance.
