RCMP Powerview Detachment have arrested and charged 26-year-old Ramie Brian Fontaine of Sagkeeng First Nation in connection with a recent fatal hunting incident 45 km north of Powerview.
On January 7, 2010, at about 2:30am, RCMP Powerview Detachment were called to a fatal hunting incident about 45 km north of Powerview on Crown Land.
On November 28, 2009, around 8:20am, RCMP Virden Detachment were advised of an individual who had been out hunting and had been shot in the right calf.
The province has proclaimed the fourth Saturday in September as Provincial Hunting Day in Manitoba to celebrate the role hunting plays in wildlife management and conservation, Conservation Minister Stan Struthers announced.
