The City of Steinbach has announced spring road weight restrictions which will commence on March 16, 2015.

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises spring road restrictions introduced in April to protect Manitoba’s paved road system will end just before midnight on Monday, May 26, for Zone 1 in southern Manitoba and Thursday, May 29, for Zone 2 in northern reaches of the province.

Spring roadway weight restrictions in Steinbach will commence on Monday, March 31, 2014. The restrictions which were to come into effect earlier in the month have been delayed due to the prolonged cold weather.

The Manitoba government is making a special one-time amendment to spring weight restriction policy on provincial roads that will enable farmers to be nimble and react quickly to changes in climatic and market conditions.

Spring road restrictions introduced in April to protect Manitoba’s paved road system will end at midnight tonight.

Temporary spring roadway weight restrictions in Steinbach will commence on March 15, 2013 at 6am and will likely continue until June 03, 2013.

The annual Spring Roadway Weight Restriction period in Steinbach will commence on March 15, 2012 (6:00 am) until further notice.

Operators of heavy trucks will see a shorter period of spring road restrictions this year as a result of changes to provincial policy.

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises that, due to the exceptional early spring weather and dry conditions, spring road restrictions for heavy trucks, introduced in March to protect the province’s road system, will end on May 12, two weeks sooner than planned in southern parts of the province and May 17 in the north.

As a result of the updated spring flood outlook released this week by Manitoba Water Stewardship, agricultural producers will now be able to apply for a special permit to continue to transport grain and livestock on Manitoba highways while spring road restrictions are in effect, Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Ron Lemieux said.
