On January 11, 2014, shortly before 9:30pm, Parkland RCMP responded to a report of a collision on a snowmobile trail near Rainbow Beach in the RM of Ochre River.

With the colder weather upon us and snow covering the ground, many snowmobile enthusiasts are trailering their sleds and heading to various parts of Manitoba to enjoy some time on the trails.

Steinbach RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for a stolen 2010 Polaris RMK 800 snowmobile.

On December 7, 2013, shortly after 11:30pm, Lac du Bonnet RCMP were advised that two young men had left their cabin at approximately 4pm to go snowmobiling and had not returned as scheduled.

Steinbach RCMP are asking the public for any information in connection to a snowmobile theft incident that occurred earlier this month in the RM of La Broquerie.

On February 17, 2013, the Thompson RCMP Detachment and Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship joined efforts to patrol the snowmobile trail system in the Thompson area, an initiative supported by the Thompson Trailbreakers snowmobile club.

RCMP North District Traffic Services recently partnered with Flin Flon/Cranberry Portage Detachment and Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship to conduct snowmobile checks on trails and lakes throughout the district.

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation cautions that unstable ice conditions may occur on the upper Assiniboine River downstream of Shellmouth as routine preparations for spring run-off are underway.

The Thompson RCMP would like to alert snowmobilers to stay clear of the open water near the Miles Heart Bridge, on the Burntwood River.

The City of Steinbach is reminding snowmobile enthusiasts of the snowmobile By-law that was put in place to ensure the fun and safety of everyone enjoying the sport.
