On March 15, 2016, shortly after 3am, Leaf Rapids RCMP officers were called to a residence in South Indian Lake shortly following the discovery of a body belonging to an adult male.

On October 30, 2010, at about 2:30pm, Leaf Rapids RCMP were dispatched to the scene of an unresponsive male in a residence in South Indian Lake, Manitoba.
