Obituary

Herman Falk Banman, age 74, of New Bothwell passed away on Wednesday, October 3rd 2018 at Steinbach Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB

He is survived by his loving wife Mary of fifty years, one daughter Roselynn (Chuck), three sons Roy (Bernadette), Brian (Kim), Mark (Jodie), twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Herman was predeceased by his parents Abram and Gertruda Banman and one brother, one brother-in-law, and one great grandchild.

Herman was born in the RM of Tache on June 17th 1944. He lived on a farm close to Niverville until age four, when his family sold the farm and moved to Paraguay in 1948. Eleven months later they moved back to Canada, and then made their home in New Bothwell. Herman started working for his Uncle John and Aunt Tina Banman at age thirteen. At age fifteen, he worked on several farms until he started construction.

In 1967, he started working at Fairway Milling which burned down in 1971, then he walked across the street and started working at Central Grain. He was a miller for forty four years, until his health failed and he was forced to retire in 2009.

Herman married the love of his life, Mary Hiebert on November 4th 1967. They made their home in the town of New Bothwell for their first four years. Then they moved to the farm and raised their four children where they still lived to this day. Dad enjoyed farming on his mixed hobby farm of seventy five acres. Dad also loved to read and spend time at the local coffee shops.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at Bethesda Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bothwell Christian Fellowship Church, 20 Sara Avenue, New Bothwell, MB, with viewing prior to the service.

The interment will take place at Silberfeld Cemetery, New Bothwell, MB.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bothwell Christian Fellowship building fund.
