Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Mary Fehr (nee Wieler), on Saturday, May 11th, 2019, at the age of 81, at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, Manitoba where she resided.

Mom will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her seven children; Janet (Ron), Larry (Bonita), Rod (Rhonda), Ken (Sjana), Val (Chris), Brenda (Brent) and Bob (Bonny); as well as her 21 grandchildren: Ron (Trisha), Jennifer, Cory (Lisa), Jesse (Ana), Amanda (Craig), James (Rachel), Daniel (Tanya), Brittany, Austin, Ashley, Heather (Matthew), Matthew (Cheylee), Aaron, Michelle (Jean-Guy), Kelsey (Paul), Tyler, Stephen, Meghan, Shanece (Bret), Shayla and Mariah; and her 24 great grandchildren: Jasmine, Cloe, Zachary, Kylee, Marshal, Brenden, Brooklyn, Adanna, Dominic, Jaxson, Madeline, Madison, Rees, Hailey, Myah, Jackson, Lily, Benjamin, Lucas, Logan, Peyton, Emmett, Aubrey and Anayah. She is also survived by two sisters, three brothers and their families and many other extended family and friends.

Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Peter (dad) and their one son Jim.

Mom was born in Gretna, Manitoba on October 17, 1937. Growing up, she enjoyed working outside with her dad on the farm, playing baseball and attending school. Mom met and married dad in 1957, at the age of 20 and began their family together the next year. Mom and dad moved around quite a bit and made friends everywhere they went. She was a spunky, fun-loving, heart-filled and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a smile and laughter that would light up a room. Her family meant the world to her. Mom shared her faith and many traditions that will live on in her memory.

A big thank you to the Heritage Life Personal Care Home and the Steinbach Bethesda Regional Health Centre care teams for providing compassion and support to mom while she was in their care.

The closed casket funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Burial will take place at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Cemetery.
