Obituary

On September 4, 2019 at the age of 79, Bernice passed away with her daughter and son by her side.

Bernice was predeceased by her father and mother Albert and Theresa Buss (Harder), her sister Dianne and brother Ken.

She is survived by her sister Ruth Brownridge.

Bernice was born in Deloraine, MB. Bernice and her parents moved to Steinbach. She worked in a clinic for Dr. Kruger in Steinbach. She was the oldest of the siblings. Her father had the first shoe store in Steinbach where she enjoyed helping her dad in the store.

Bernice & Lorenz met at an early age. On June 6, 1959 she married Lorenz Borkowsky, together they started their journey. Bernice devoted her life working with her husband as dairy farmers. When not busy on the farm Bernice was in the garden or attending in the home.

Bernice loved being with her family. Her four granddaughters and great-granddaughter were her pride and joy.

Bernice will be dearly missed by her daughter Kimberly Funk (Husband Alan), son Boyd Borkowsky (wife Marlys) and granddaughters Crystal Warner (husband Stephen) Amy Borkowsky, Tiffany Funk and (great- granddaughter Tori) and Aryelle Sylvester (husband Tyler).

Cremation has taken place.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach, MB.
