It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandpa on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the age of 77.
Jake was preceded in death by his son Ferdinand, mother, father, and 5 siblings.
Jake is survived by his wife Helena, son Hardy and his wife Rose, their children Samantha (Brian), Joshua (Emily), and Nyah, son Edgar and his wife Dixie, their children Eston and Elijah, Ferdinands children Chelsey (Tim), Celleste (Jeremy), Twila (Nick). He is also survived by 5 great grand children, stepmother, 11 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Jake was born in Chaco, Paraguay on September 1, 1943.
He married Helena in Paraguay on January 16, 1966, where Ferdinand was born. The young family then immigrated to Canada in 1968, where Hardy and Edgar were born a few years later.
Jake provided for his family by way of long-distance truck driving, something which he enjoyed immensely. He also had a passion for ham radio, history, and very much enjoyed electronic and mechanical repair.
Although trucking took him away from family more than he would have liked, he was intentional with making wonderful memories by planning fishing trips, camping trips, and family weekend events.
Jake gave his life to Christ and was baptized in 1963, in Chaco Paraguay at the age of 20. He mediated on God’s word throughout his life and in his final days found comfort in God’s promises of eternal life.
