We, Ron and Emily, are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Mary Andrusyk (nee Smook). Mary was born February 9, 1930 and passed away on March 9, 2021 at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, MB. On February 28, 2021, she suffered a debilitating stroke and God saw fit to gently take her unto Himself. She had just celebrated her 91st birthday.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry, her parents, two brothers and two brothers-in-law.
Left to mourn are her son, Ron and his wife Emily, two sisters, one sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Mary and Harry farmed in the Woodmore area for many years. Later they built a house in Roseau River where she resided by herself until a few years ago. She loved flowers and was often seen puttering in her flower beds. Mary and Harry attended church in Plankey Plains and later in Rosa.
Mary resided in the Vita Personal Care Home for approximately two years and then moved to Bethesda Place and resided there for just over a year. We want to thank the Vita PCH and Bethesda Place staff for the excellent care she received while in their care. We also want to thank Deacon Leon Twerdun and Chaplain Lydia Summerville for the loving spiritual care they provided.
A private graveside service and interment will take place at the Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Rosa.
