It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of David Loeppky, 75, of Vita, Manitoba on December 26, 2017 at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, in Steinbach, Manitoba.
David’s memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 51 years, Elda, and his sons’ families: Landis and Lucille Loeppky and grandchildren Deanna, Keith and Skye Wood of Vita, MB and Sheldon and Monica Loeppky and grandchildren Evan and Bennett Loeppky of Langley, BC.
David was born on January 29, 1942 to Diedrich and Sarah Loeppky of Stuartburn, MB and was the eldest of 7 siblings. Dave is survived by sisters Sarah Loeppky, Annetta Loeppky, Susan Loeppky, Martha Loeppky, Elma Loeppky and Ruth Squires and her family, and brother Martin Loeppky and his family.
Dave especially loved family, farming and his community and was a pastor and friend to many. He committed his life to Christ when he was in his late teens. Dave graduated from Winnipeg Bible College in 1964 and was married to Elda Harder in 1966. He joyfully lived and eagerly served in the communities of Stuartburn, Kenora, Grunthal and Vita.
Despite a series of health challenges, Dave’s resiliency and God’s grace allowed him to continue doing all that he loved – even right up until the end. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, work ethic, wisdom, servant heart and deep love for people and God.
The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ukrainian National Home of Vita, Vita, MB, with a viewing prior to the service. The interment will follow at the Sunrise Cemetery, Vita, MB.
