Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Penner on May 2, 2022 at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, MB.

Henry was predeceased by his parents Peter & Maria Penner and two brothers Jake & John.

Left to cherish his memories; his partner Sandra Thompson and family, 3 brothers Dave (Linda) Spruce Grove, AB, Neil (Lavonna) Kleefeld, MB, Peter (Laurie) Steinbach, MB, one sister-in-law Helen Penner Steinbach, MB, and many nieces and nephews.

Henry was born on September 9, 1946 in Altona, MB to Peter & Maria Penner. Henry attended the Houston School in Halbstadt, MB. When the family moved to Kleefeld, MB in 1964. Henry went to work at the age of 18. He worked for Pile Foundations as a crane operator for all his life except for 1 year when he worked at Penner Tire in Steinbach.

Some of Henry’s favorite pastimes were camping, spending time with family and reading the Saturday Winnipeg Free Press, especially the editorials.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday May 7, 2022 at Crossings Funeral Care, Steinbach, MB, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Wieler officiating.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Steinbach Bethesda Hospital and Health Sciences Center for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
