Obituary

Jason Paul Lapointe, devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 18, 2023, at St Boniface Hospital. Jason was born on March 30, 1985, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

From an early age, Jason’s curiosity and passion for fixing things led him to excel as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic at CN Rail for over 13 years. He was known for conquering every mechanical challenge with skill and determination.

Beyond work at CN Rail, Jason served as a Volunteer Firefighter with Hanover Fire Station 4. Joining the force in August 2017, he quickly proved himself invaluable to the team through his dedication and bravery. Jason’s unwavering commitment to protecting his community was truly admirable and was appointed Captain on September 13, 2022.

Despite the demands of his career and community service commitments, Jason always made time for his loved ones. His enormous heart belonged to his wife Pamela and their two beautiful daughters Brynn and Jadyn. He was not just their pillar of strength but also their constant source of support and encouragement.

Known for his mouthwatering spaghetti sauce, lasagna, Caesar salad, and famous BBQ ribs, he became a culinary legend among family and friends. These meals were routinely asked for during visits and Jason would happily make them.

Jason had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, an adventurous spirit, and a proud nerdiness that endeared him to others. His infectious laughter and sense of humor lit up any room. Jason had a remarkable capacity for kindness and offered a helping hand whenever needed. This kindness knew no bounds, earning him friendships that spanned across generations.

Nature was his solace, and he enjoyed camping trips, water adventures, and conquering the mountains on a snowboard.

His proudest accomplishments are evident in the loving relationships he cultivated, as a devoted son, loving husband, and caring father. As a firefighter, he displayed selflessness and bravery in the face of danger.

In our grief, let us remember Jason for his kind heart, infectious laughter, unwavering commitment to loved ones and community, and his ability to fix anything that came his way. May his spirit live on in our memories, forever inspiring us to embrace life with the same joy and passion that he did.

Jason leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents Paul and Linda, sisters Krista (Marwan) and Joelle (Louis-Martin), parents-in-law Emile and Mona, sister-in-law Tonya (Neil), niece Alex, and numerous extended family members and friends.

Services celebrating Jason’s remarkable life will be held on October 4th, 2023.
