Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Katharina Guenther on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Katharina was predeceased by her parents Johann and Katharina Guenther.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family in Canada and Paraguay.

Katharina came to Canada in 1972, although she practiced nursing in Paraguay, she took her upgrading in Red River Community College to become a registered nurse and worked at the Concordia Hospital for the majority of her nursing career.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Katharina during her short stay. As well as to the many friends and family for their prayers and support.

A livestreamed funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Springfield Height Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2G 0H9. A viewing will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. Following the service the family invites those in attendance to join them for a time of fellowship. Katharina will be laid to rest in the Hespeler Cemetery in Niverville, Manitoba.
