Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lucien, at the age of 88 years on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

Lucien is survived by his nine children Louis (Monique), Dianne (Albert), Lorraine (Maurice), Doris (Art), Suzanne (Danny), Lise, Claire (Robert), Colette (Luc), Gerald (Lynn), 33 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Rachelle (Courcelles) of 63 years, parents Philippe and Ida, sister Jeannine, parents-in-law Dominique and Yvonne, sisters-in-law Diane and Béatrice, brothers-in-law Guillaume, Isidore, Ovila and Armand, and son-in-law Raymond.

Lucien, our Dad, was good at many things, among them, he was a husband, a father of nine, welder, mechanic, bus driver, farmer, and building mover.

Dad enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, fishing, camping, and travelling coast to coast across Canada with Mom. Dad also enjoyed his horses.

We grew up with music. Some of our fondest memories was of Dad playing guitar, mandolin, and violin. Dad was an amazing fiddler.

As a fiddler, Dad loved being in a band called Small Town and many loved listening and dancing to the music. Lucien (Dad) has been Inducted into the “Manitoba Fiddler Wall of Fame” which is a great honour, thanks to the efforts of Claude and Anita Désorcy.

The memorial service for Lucien will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 1:30 P.M. at the St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church, 101 Principale St, La Broquerie, MB. Interment to take place following the service at the church cemetery.

Snack to follow after the service at the Centre D’Amitié, 97 Principale St, La Broquerie, MB.

Special thank you to those who took compassionate care of our Dad at Ste. Anne Hospital.
