Obituary

Tina Schroeder went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, January 14th, 2024 at the Rest Haven Care Home in Steinbach, MB.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Peter and her children; Alma (Art), Ernie (Linda), John (Jen), Willie (Olivia), Elsie (Ron), Ed (Rose), Tina (Rod), Alvina (Allen), 24 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents David and Maria Klassen, sister Mary, brothers Abe and Jake, several brothers & sisters-in-law and daughter-in-law Loreen Schroeder.

Tina was born May 31, 1932 in Altona, MB., the first of seven children. She spent her childhood years in the Altona area but in her teenage years her parents moved the family to Paraguay. It is there that she met her husband Peter and they were married on April 25, 1954 and started their family of eight children. In 1968, after much thought and prayer, our parents decided to return to Canada.

Tina enjoyed many hobbies, including; gardening, canning, sewing, crafting, baking, cooking and volunteering in various ways. As a family we all benefited from her many talents. She also deeply cherished her family and especially appreciated all the visits and communications she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to extend our sincere thank you to all the staff who cared for her at Bridge Park, making that initial move out of their home so much easier. We also thank the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre Rehab where mom spent a brief time after her stroke. She was so blessed by the care and compassion she received there. And a huge thank you to the Rest Haven Staff who helped mom find peace with moving there and for the loving care especially in her final days.

“Behold, God is my Salvation; I will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” ~ Isaiah 12:2 ESV

The livestreamed memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with a private family interment to take place prior to the service.
