It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend, Steven Brink. Steve passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB., at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a man of remarkable character, whose legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
Left to mourn his passing are, his wife of 41 years, Marilyn, children Ashley Elgert (Jay), Erin Nobess (Aaron), Jessica Driedger (Kristopher) and Robyn Brink, grandchildren Ethan, Maddox, Ava, Isabelle, Nathan, Joscie, Sophie, Charlie, Jack, Rory, (and another on the way) and Hayden, siblings Terry (Ruth), Eldon (Cheryl), Glen (Sharon), many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret and father, William.
Born in Ste. Rose du Lac and raised in Makinak, MB., Steve was the epitome of hard work and resilience. Growing up on the farm, as the second oldest of four boys, he learned the values of perseverance and determination early in life. He reluctantly attended school until 8th grade but then wholeheartedly devoted himself to farming. He appreciated the simpler things in life, sitting around the fire on the deck with his wife, coffee time with friends, farming, caring for his chickens in the spring, camping in the summer, tending to his yard and spending time with his family.
Despite facing numerous health struggles throughout his life, Steven was a man of unwavering hope, with a profound belief in God. He gained strength and connection in gathering with other men of faith. He will be remembered for his generosity, unconditional love, infectious humor, and compassionate nature. His acts of kindness touched countless lives. He had a unique ability to light up any room with his laughter and warmth, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with a Celebration of Life to be held at Grace Baptist Church in Ochre River, MB., at a later date.
