Obituary

Team Cheryl is sad to announce that Cheryl Desmarais Granger’s six-year cancer journey has come to an end. On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, after spending the day surrounded by family, Cheryl passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side.

Cheryl was born on February 8, 1993, in Winnipeg, MB. She was a welcome addition to a large loving family who focused on making wonderful memories together. She graduated from the SRSS in 2011 and soon after married the love of her life, Vinny. They later welcomed Dexter, Aiyanna and Kylie into their home and their beautiful family was complete.

Cheryl was predeceased by her grandparents, Henry and Helen Harder, Alfred and Agnes Desmarais and nephew, Rayden.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Vinny Granger, children, Dexter, Aiyanna and Kylie, along with her parents, Maurice and Sharan Desmarais. Her siblings, Christen, Mike (Lisa), Marie, Tasha, Christine (Reuben) and Destiny (Josh) will forever cherish their time spent together. She will be missed by her nephews, Ian, Tyler, Scott, Ryan, Alex and Austin plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and supporters.

We wish to express our most sincere gratitude to the staff at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre and also CancerCare in both Steinbach and Winnipeg. Thank you for your kindness and support in caring for Cheryl.

In lieu of flowers, please contact Canadian Blood Services to donate blood in Cheryl’s honor – it is with these donations that we were given more time creating special memories with her.

Rest in paradise, Cheryl – your smile will never be forgotten.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Dainties and coffee/tea to follow.

The informal burial will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
